Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 1, 2026
Nolum is operated by Aisac Labs, currently Reitumetse Joseph DBA Aisac Labs, located in Massachusetts, United States.
This Privacy Policy explains how Nolum collects, stores, uses, and shares information when you use the Nolum iOS app.
Nolum is a voice-first cooking companion that helps you import recipes, save them on your device, view recipe details, and use voice-guided cooking features such as step navigation, ingredient reminders, substitutions, and cooking questions.
For privacy questions, deletion requests, legal notices, or copyright notices, contact legal@aisaclabs.com. For general support, contact hello@aisaclabs.com.
1. Summary
Here is the short version:
Your saved recipes are stored locally on your device.
Nolum does not currently sync complete saved recipes to a cloud recipe database or cloud recipe library.
URL-imported recipe images are stored locally as resized thumbnails. Nolum does not upload imported recipe images to cloud storage.
Your saved recipes stay on your device, but when you use certain online features, Nolum may send the recipe text needed to complete that request. For example, this can happen when Nolum needs AI help importing a recipe, answering a cooking question, or reading recipe text aloud using online voice features.
Nolum collects limited feedback, usage, subscription, and diagnostic information to operate and improve the app.
Nolum ships with crash reporting so we can diagnose and fix app crashes.
Nolum does not currently provide public recipe sharing, a public recipe feed, or a public imported-recipe library.
Nolum does not sell your personal information.
Aisac Labs does not store raw audio recordings.
2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device
When you save recipes in Nolum, the app stores recipe information locally on your device. This may include:
recipe title;
source URL;
image source URL;
local image filename;
resized local JPEG thumbnail;
servings or yield;
prep time, cook time, and total time when available;
ingredient lines and parsed ingredient fields;
instruction steps;
sections, notes, equipment, nutrition fields, or other recipe metadata when present;
dates and other local recipe metadata.
Nolum may also store app preferences locally, such as your measurement preference and whether onboarding has been completed.
Saved recipe records are currently stored locally in the app’s local storage. URL-imported images are stored locally as resized JPEG thumbnails in the app’s local Application Support storage.
Deleting a recipe in the app removes that recipe from local storage. Deleting a recipe also deletes its local thumbnail file when no remaining recipe references the same thumbnail filename.
Deleting the Nolum app from your device removes the app’s local saved recipes and local thumbnails from that device, subject to normal iOS behavior and backups.
3. URL Imports and Third-Party Recipe Websites
When you import a recipe from a URL, Nolum may request the recipe webpage, read recipe information from that page, and download a recipe image from the source website or its content delivery network.
The source website, recipe publisher, image host, or content delivery network may receive technical information related to that request, such as your IP address, user agent, requested URL, and possibly a referring page URL. Those third parties process that information under their own privacy policies.
Nolum may store the original recipe source URL and image URL locally so you can return to the original recipe source and so the app can display the recipe properly.
If a saved local thumbnail is unavailable, Nolum may try to load the recipe image again from the original image source.
4. AI Import Fallback
Nolum tries to import recipes using normal webpage extraction first. For some URL imports, especially when extraction is low-confidence or incomplete, Nolum may use AI import assistance.
When AI import assistance is used, Nolum may send information needed to process the recipe, such as:
the source URL;
selected or minimized recipe-page text;
detected recipe title, ingredients, steps, or related recipe fields.
This information may be sent through Aisac Labs’ backend or service providers used to provide the import feature.
Nolum does not currently send complete saved recipe records to a cloud recipe database or cloud recipe library.
5. Cooking AI and Recipe Questions
When you ask cooking questions, substitution questions, or recipe-related questions using Nolum’s AI features, Nolum may send information needed to answer your question, such as:
recipe title;
ingredients;
instruction steps;
your spoken or typed question;
relevant cooking context.
This allows Nolum to answer questions like ingredient reminders, substitutions, or cooking guidance. AI responses may be imperfect, incomplete, or misunderstood, so you should always use your own judgment, especially for food safety, allergies, dietary needs, and doneness.
6. Online Text-to-Speech
Nolum can read recipe content and app responses aloud. When online text-to-speech is used, Nolum may send the text to be spoken to Aisac Labs’ backend or text-to-speech service providers.
Text sent for speech may include:
recipe ingredients;
recipe steps;
app responses;
cooking guidance;
substitution answers.
Nolum may also use on-device Apple speech features as a fallback or where available.
7. Microphone and Speech Recognition
Nolum requests microphone and speech recognition permissions when you use voice features.
Voice input may be processed by Apple speech recognition services and/or app systems depending on the feature and your device settings. Nolum uses recognized speech or command text to provide voice-guided cooking features, such as moving to the next step, repeating a step, answering ingredient questions, or responding to cooking questions.
Aisac Labs does not store raw audio recordings.
You can deny or revoke microphone and speech recognition permissions in iOS Settings. Some voice features may not work without those permissions.
Nolum does not currently provide a public voice recording feed or public speech-sharing feature.
8. Analytics and Usage Information
Aisac Labs collects limited app usage and event information to understand whether Nolum is working properly, improve reliability, and make product decisions.
This may include events such as:
app opened;
paywall viewed;
restore purchases tapped;
subscription activated;
import success or failure category;
source domain, not the full source URL;
ingredient count;
step count;
hashed local recipe identifier;
whether a voice command was understood or not understood;
the part of the Nolum app where an event happened, such as Home, Recipe Detail, Cooking View, Paywall, or Feedback;
timestamps.
For voice events, Nolum stores categories such as whether a command was understood or not understood. Nolum does not store the user’s actual spoken words or raw voice transcript in analytics.
When this Privacy Policy refers to the “screen” or “part of the app,” it means the Nolum app screen where something happened. It does not mean Nolum records your phone screen.
Nolum’s analytics do not store full recipe URLs, recipe titles, ingredient text, step text, pasted recipe text, raw voice transcripts, AI answers, or AI prompt bodies.
9. Feedback You Submit
If you submit feedback in Nolum, Aisac Labs collects information needed to understand and respond to that feedback. This may include:
a randomly generated install identifier;
the part of the Nolum app where you submitted feedback, such as Cooking View or Recipe Detail;
the feedback message you typed;
whether the issue blocked cooking;
feedback category;
rating, if provided;
optional contact email, if you provide one;
app version;
build number;
device model;
iOS version;
submission time.
Please avoid including sensitive personal information in feedback unless necessary. If you voluntarily include recipe details, personal information, or other content in a feedback message, that information may be stored with your feedback.
10. Support Emails
If you contact Aisac Labs by email, we receive the email address you send from, the contents of your message, and standard email metadata.
Depending on your device and email settings, the email address you send from may be your personal email address or a relay/private email address.
If you use the in-app support email sheet, the email may include technical support information such as:
anonymous install ID;
app version and build number;
device model;
iOS version.
This information helps us troubleshoot issues and respond to support requests.
11. Anonymous Install ID
Nolum may use a randomly generated install identifier. This does not require you to create an account or provide your name.
Aisac Labs may use this identifier for app functionality, feedback handling, analytics, diagnostics, abuse prevention, or support. Although this identifier is not a user account, it may be associated with app events or feedback submitted from the same app installation.
12. Subscriptions and Purchases
Nolum is offered through Apple App Store subscriptions. Apple processes subscription payments.
Aisac Labs may receive or process subscription status, entitlement status, purchase/restore events, and related metadata needed to unlock paid features and understand subscription performance.
Aisac Labs does not receive your payment card information. You can manage, cancel, or update subscriptions through your Apple account settings.
13. Diagnostics and Crash Reports
Nolum includes crash reporting and diagnostic tools to help Aisac Labs identify and fix bugs.
Diagnostic and crash information may include:
device model;
operating system version;
app version;
crash traces;
performance or diagnostic data;
installation or session identifiers;
logs or technical metadata.
Aisac Labs does not intentionally attach recipe content to crash reports. However, because crash reports can include automatic technical details, we do not claim that crash reports can never include recipe-related or technical context.
14. What Nolum Does Not Currently Do
Based on the current launch version:
Nolum does not currently sync complete saved recipes to a cloud recipe database or cloud recipe library.
Nolum does not upload imported recipe images to cloud storage.
Nolum does not currently provide a public recipe-sharing platform, public recipe feed, or public imported-recipe library.
Nolum does not sell your personal information.
Nolum does not use your information for third-party advertising.
Nolum does not use your information to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Nolum does not require account creation at launch.
Nolum does not intentionally collect precise location, contacts, health data, photos library data, or payment card information.
Nolum does not claim ownership of third-party recipes you import for private use.
These statements apply to the current launch version and may change if Nolum adds new features in the future.
15. How We Use Information
Aisac Labs may use information to:
provide and operate Nolum;
import, display, and read recipes;
support AI-assisted cooking features;
provide text-to-speech and voice features;
process subscriptions and restore purchases;
respond to feedback and support requests;
improve app reliability and user experience;
diagnose bugs, crashes, and performance problems;

16. Service Providers
Nolum may rely on service providers to operate the app. These may include:
Apple, for App Store purchases, iOS permissions, speech recognition, and system services;
cloud database, analytics, and diagnostic providers;
backend hosting providers;
AI and text-to-speech providers used by Aisac Labs to provide AI import assistance, Cooking AI, and online speech features;
recipe source websites, publishers, image hosts, and content delivery networks when you import recipes from URLs or when recipe images are requested.
These providers may process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.
17. Data Retention
Local saved recipes and thumbnails remain on your device unless you delete them in the app or delete the app.
Feedback, support messages, analytics, crash reports, diagnostic records, subscription event metadata, and server logs may be retained for as long as reasonably needed to operate Nolum, improve the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or maintain business records.
You may contact Aisac Labs at legal@aisaclabs.com to request deletion of information Aisac Labs controls, such as feedback messages or contact email, where feasible.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to Aisac Labs through Nolum, please contact legal@aisaclabs.com so we can review and respond appropriately.
20. Security
Aisac Labs uses reasonable measures to protect information processed through Nolum. However, no app, device, network, or online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
21. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Aisac Labs may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
When we do, we will update the effective date and post the updated Privacy Policy on our website and/or make it available through the app. Because Nolum does not currently require user accounts and may not have an email address for you, you are responsible for periodically reviewing the Privacy Policy on our website or through the app for updates.
If changes are material, we may provide additional notice where reasonably available, such as through the app, App Store release notes, our website, or another appropriate method.
