These Terms of Use govern your use of Nolum, an iOS cooking companion app operated by Aisac Labs, currently Reitumetse Joseph DBA Aisac Labs, located in Massachusetts, United States.

By using Nolum, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Nolum is a cooking-assistance tool. It is not a medical, nutrition, allergy, food-safety, legal, or copyright-advice service.

1. What Nolum Does

Nolum helps users import, save, view, and cook from recipes. Nolum includes voice-guided cooking features, recipe navigation, ingredient reminders, substitutions, cooking questions, and text-to-speech features.

Nolum helps you interact with recipes. Nolum does not own third-party recipes imported from websites or pasted by users. Nolum is not a publisher of third-party recipe content imported by users.

2. Eligibility

You must be able to enter into a binding agreement to use Nolum. Nolum is not directed to children under 13.

If you use Nolum on behalf of another person or organization, you are responsible for making sure you have authority to do so.

3. Accounts and Local Storage

Nolum does not currently require a user account for saved recipe sync. Saved recipes are currently private to your app experience and stored locally on your device.

Because Nolum does not currently provide account-based cloud recipe sync, local recipes may not transfer across devices. Deleting the app may delete local recipes and local images from your device.

Subscriptions are handled through Apple. Feedback may be submitted without a user account.

If Nolum adds accounts, cloud sync, or public sharing in the future, additional terms may apply.

4. Subscriptions, Trials, Billing, and Cancellation

Nolum is offered through auto-renewing subscriptions through the Apple App Store.

Prices, trial availability, subscription duration, and included features are shown in the app and/or App Store before purchase. Aisac Labs may change subscription offerings or pricing as permitted by Apple and applicable law.

If a free trial is offered, the terms of the trial will be shown before you subscribe. After the trial, your subscription may automatically renew unless you cancel through Apple before renewal.

Billing is handled by Apple. Aisac Labs does not process or receive your payment card information.

You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple account settings. Refunds, billing issues, and cancellation timing are handled under Apple’s App Store policies.

Nolum may include a restore purchases option so you can restore access to an active subscription where supported.

5. User-Imported Content and Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for the content you import, paste, save, submit, or use with Nolum.

User-imported or user-submitted content may include recipes, URLs, pasted text, feedback, support messages, voice command text, cooking questions, substitution requests, notes, and other information you provide.

You agree that you will only import, paste, save, submit, or use content if you have the right to do so, or if your use is lawful, personal, or otherwise permitted.

This includes recipe text, images, URLs, notes, feedback, and any other content you provide to Nolum.

You should not submit illegal, infringing, harmful, or unnecessarily sensitive personal information through Nolum.

6. Limited Permission to Process User Content

You keep any rights you have in content you import, paste, save, or submit.

You give Aisac Labs permission to process user-imported and user-submitted content as needed to operate, provide, improve, support, secure, and troubleshoot Nolum. This includes processing content to import recipes, display saved recipes, answer cooking questions, provide voice features, respond to feedback, and diagnose app issues.

This permission does not mean Aisac Labs owns your imported recipes or third-party recipe content.

7. Third-Party Recipes, Websites, and Creator Rights

Third-party recipes, images, websites, trademarks, and creator content belong to their respective owners.

Nolum does not claim ownership of third-party recipe content imported from URLs or pasted by users.

The fact that a recipe can be imported into Nolum does not mean that the recipe creator, website, publisher, or rights-holder endorses Nolum, partners with Aisac Labs, or has granted permission for any use beyond what is legally allowed.

Imported third-party recipes are intended for private personal cooking use unless you have broader rights.

You should return to and support the original recipe source where appropriate.

8. Source Links and Attribution

When possible, Nolum may preserve source links or source information so you can return to the original recipe.

Source links are provided for convenience and attribution. Aisac Labs is not responsible for third-party websites, their availability, their content, their privacy practices, or their terms.

9. No Public Recipe Sharing at Launch

Nolum does not currently provide a public recipe-sharing platform, public recipe feed, or public imported-recipe library.

You may not use Nolum to distribute infringing content or violate the rights of recipe creators, publishers, websites, or other third parties.

10. AI Features

Nolum may use AI-assisted features to help import recipes, answer cooking questions, suggest substitutions, or provide cooking guidance.

AI features may be imperfect, incomplete, delayed, or incorrect. Nolum may misunderstand speech, recipe context, ingredients, quantities, timing, dietary restrictions, or cooking questions.

You are responsible for reviewing and verifying AI-assisted outputs before relying on them.

11. Food Safety, Allergies, Nutrition, and Dietary Needs

Nolum is not a medical, nutrition, allergy, food-safety, or professional cooking authority.

You are responsible for:

  • checking ingredients;

  • verifying allergens;

  • confirming dietary suitability;

  • handling and storing food safely;

  • cooking food to safe temperatures;

  • checking doneness;

  • deciding whether a substitution is appropriate;

  • following medical, pregnancy-related, infant/toddler-feeding, religious, dietary, or allergy-related requirements that apply to you or the people you cook for.

If you have allergies, medical conditions, food restrictions, or safety concerns, verify independently with qualified sources before relying on Nolum.

Use common sense around heat, knives, raw foods, sanitation, food storage, appliances, and other kitchen risks.

12. Voice Features

Nolum uses microphone, speech recognition, and text-to-speech features when you enable or use voice features.

Voice recognition and spoken responses may be inaccurate. You are responsible for confirming recipe steps, quantities, timing, and safety-critical instructions.

13. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • violate intellectual property rights or other third-party rights;

  • import, paste, submit, or use content unlawfully;

  • use Nolum to distribute infringing content;

  • use Nolum to bypass paywalls, access restrictions, robots restrictions, or technical protections;

  • scrape, bulk import, overload, or abuse websites, Nolum, Aisac Labs systems, or service providers;

  • reverse engineer, copy, modify, or interfere with Nolum except as permitted by law;

  • attempt to access nonpublic systems or data;

  • disrupt or degrade Nolum’s services;

  • bypass subscription access controls;

  • submit illegal, harmful, abusive, deceptive, or infringing content;

  • use Nolum in a way that violates applicable law or these Terms.

14. Feedback

If you send Aisac Labs feedback, suggestions, bug reports, ideas, or feature requests, you allow Aisac Labs to use them to improve Nolum and related products without owing you compensation.

Aisac Labs will handle personal information in feedback according to the Privacy Policy.

15. Aisac Labs Intellectual Property

Nolum, including the app design, brand, logo, software, interface, text, features, and related materials, is owned by Aisac Labs or its licensors.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of Nolum or Aisac Labs intellectual property to you.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Aisac Labs grants you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use Nolum for your own lawful personal use.

16. Third-Party Services

Nolum may rely on third-party services, including Apple, cloud database providers, analytics providers, diagnostic providers, backend hosting providers, AI providers, text-to-speech providers, and recipe source websites or content delivery networks.

Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies. Aisac Labs is not responsible for third-party services outside its control.

17. Service Availability and Changes

Nolum may be unavailable or limited due to internet connectivity, Apple services, speech recognition, AI or text-to-speech providers, cloud services, hosting providers, recipe websites, maintenance, updates, or events outside Aisac Labs’ control.

Some features require internet access.

Aisac Labs may modify, suspend, discontinue, limit, or remove features at any time, including AI features, voice features, recipe import, image import, subscriptions, analytics, or integrations.

18. Privacy

Your use of Nolum is also governed by the Nolum Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how Nolum stores, processes, and shares information.

19. Copyright Complaints

Aisac Labs respects the rights of creators and rights-holders.

If you believe content processed through Nolum or made available through Aisac Labs-controlled services infringes your copyright, contact us at: legal@aisaclabs.com

Please include:

  • your name and contact information;

  • identification of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed;

  • identification of the content or activity you believe is infringing;

  • enough information for Aisac Labs to understand and locate the issue;

  • a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;

  • a statement that the information you provide is accurate;

  • your physical or electronic signature.

Aisac Labs may remove, restrict, disable, or investigate content, accounts, access, or features in response to credible copyright complaints, repeat infringement, abuse, or legal risk.

Because Nolum currently stores saved imported recipes locally on user devices and does not provide a public imported-recipe library, Aisac Labs may not be able to remove content stored only on a user’s device. However, Aisac Labs can review Aisac Labs-controlled services and respond where feasible.

20. No Warranties

Nolum is provided “as is” and “as available.”

Aisac Labs does not guarantee that:

  • Nolum will always be available;

  • recipe import will always work;

  • imported recipes will always be accurate or complete;

  • AI responses will always be correct;

  • voice recognition will always understand you;

  • text-to-speech will always be available;

  • third-party websites will remain available;

  • Nolum will be error-free or uninterrupted.

21. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aisac Labs will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aisac Labs is not responsible for cooking outcomes, failed recipes, spoiled food, allergic reactions, injury, dietary mistakes, unsafe food handling, reliance on AI output, third-party recipe content, third-party websites, lost local recipes, service interruptions, or user-imported content.

Some laws do not allow certain warranty disclaimers or liability limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

22. Termination or Restriction

Aisac Labs may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to Nolum or certain features if you violate these Terms, misuse the app, infringe rights, create legal risk, or abuse Aisac Labs systems or service providers.

23. Changes to These Terms

Aisac Labs may update these Terms from time to time.

When we do, we will update the effective date and post the updated Terms on our website and/or make them available through the app. Because Nolum does not currently require user accounts and may not have an email address for you, you are responsible for periodically reviewing the Terms on our website or through the app for updates.

If changes are material, we may provide additional notice where reasonably available, such as through the app, App Store release notes, our website, or another appropriate method.

Your continued use of Nolum after updated Terms are posted or made available means you accept the updated Terms.

24. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
